How to play Tic Tac Toe
Tic Tac Toe, also called noughts and crosses, is played on a 3x3 grid. Players take turns placing their mark, X or O, in an empty square. The first player to get three marks in a row, across, down or diagonally, wins. If all nine squares fill up with no line, the game is a draw.
Tips to win
- Start in a corner or the centre. Corners give you the most ways to win.
- If you can make two lines at once (a fork), your opponent can only block one.
- Always block when your opponent has two in a row.
- Against perfect play the game is always a draw, so the Hard computer cannot be beaten, only tied.
