How to play Four Connect
Four Connect is played on a grid of 7 columns and 6 rows. Players take turns dropping a coloured disc into a column. The disc falls to the lowest empty space. The first player to line up four discs in a row wins. The row can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal.
If the board fills up with no four in a row, the game is a draw.
Winning strategy
- Start in the centre column. It takes part in more possible fours than any other.
- Build two threats at once. Your opponent can only block one.
- Always check what your opponent can win after your move, especially above your own disc.
- Try to make diagonal lines. They are harder for people to spot.
